The collection celebrates five of Australia's best-known inventions: the stump jump plough, patented by Richard Smith in 1876; the black box flight recorder, invented by Dr David Warren in 1953; the jaffle maker, first invented by Dr Ernest Smithers in 1949 and reimagined by Breville in 1974; the Safe-n-Sound Baby Safety Capsule, invented by Bill Bowtell, Bob Heath and Colin Nagel; and high-speed WLAN technology, developed in the 1990s by CSIRO.
The reverse features all five inventions surrounding a lightbulb with Australia inside and the text 'Australian Inventions'. The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III. Limited to a mintage of 10,000.
